We decided tonight would be a Christmas-y night, so we braved the 9 degree weather to shop for our Christmas tree. Michael finally indulged me and let me get a non-standard variety, a white pine. A beautiful name for a beautiful, bushy, full tree.
He also let me decorate it monochromatic, or duochromatic--blue and green.

Everything looks stunning! Your tree is real??? You lucky ducky. It is gorgeous. When I first read I thought maybe it would be a fake WHITE tree..you know, those 80s looking ones? Funny. That doesn't sound like your kind of tree : )
Everything looks great. Your first Christmas in your new home! Lots of lights on that tree-I like it.

Looks great!!
I have had 2 frustrations in my Christmas decorating this year -
1. I can't find a non-lame Christmas Tree Topper anywhere! Do they only make cheap looking stars as Christmas tree toppers these days? Do you have a topper?
2. I tried to buy more colored lights to decorate my windows and patio - and have had a very hard time! All colored strands were gone at both Lowes AND Target! There were only straight up white and straight up blue left. Why put lights up if they are only white? That's like clear being your favorite color! Lame! :-) (Okay....white lights are pretty on some houses, but I go for fun, not pretty!!)
I love Christmastime!!!!!!!!
Liz, Mike would never allow a fake tree. I'm all for them, having grown up with them, but Mike thinks that is sacrilege.
Jen, you're funny. I have a cheap looking star for a Christmas topper from Walmart. But it's so high up, I figure it's OK. I'm sorry all the lights are gone! I love all white lights, but Mike doesn't so much either.
Your house and decor look gorgeous! I love that you got a fresh tree. We used to do that until we wanted to be able to have our tree up longer. We were able to put our tree up early since it is fake!! To make it smell like pine, we have Yankee candles called Christmas Wreath and make us think our tree is real!! Your house probably smells much better!!
1. Lovely!
2. Oh Christmas Tree!
3. Fake trees are only sacrilege until you are a small pet owner. Pine needles can puncture small intestines when eaten. Fake tree = small price to pay.
4. The 80's ruled.
Seriously...i have "christmas decoration" envy. Amazing and so beautiful, Amber!!!
